i've noticed a disturbing trend. our parents wait until we are out of the house, and then do much needed remodels. well, much needed when we lived there. but now not so needed.

example: i have taken a shower in our bathroom (kids bathroom) a total of ONE time in the 16 years i have lived here. and it was a really terrible shower, because it never worked right for 16 years. the water like ate your skin with bullets that stang like skanky mexican jellyfish. (no offense to mexico, but warm oceans attract them jellyfishes) But now that my brother and i have moved out, my parents completely re-did the bathrooms. wow! two working showers in the house! too bad they only need one now!

another example: my cousins tim and andy grew up in a tiny-ass bedroom, with bunk beds. now that they are both in college, their parents decided to add a second story to the house. yeah. now that theres only two people living there, hey, lets add on a couple more bedrooms!

i make one amendment. our bathroom is not completely done. there is no sink, no mirror, no medicine cabinet. but there is a shower. but i have to brush my teeth in the kitchen.
ay..
