I cut Steve's hair today. It took me an entire hour to do it, too. I think I am good at cutting the top of people's hair, but the around the ears part always stumps me. Is there a "haircutting for haphazard amateurs" tutorial out there somewhere? I generally decide where on my finger the hair is going to go to if I stick the tip of my finger on the person's scalp. Then I cut a bunch of spots to that length and then try to get everything even. Highly excellent, eh?
I think maybe my haircuts are better than some Supercuts haircuts, but damn am I slow. I wouldn't make any money at that job, and besides I always cut my fingers accidentally with the scissors. At least I have real haircutting scissors now and not just desk ones. So professional!
