i made a ream of paper's worth of copies after school today. i made so many copies that when i emerged, all the other teachers had left for the day, and i was all alone with a smear of black copy ink on my face.

and then i got bad news. someone else's bad news, but that doesn't mean that it hurts me any less than if it was me. in fact, it probably hurts worse.

in other news, there is a problem in my classroom that i'm not going to talk about, and my class will probably be shifting around at least by a couple students sometime next week. (it all has to do with enrollment and all the maneuvering that has to be done to keep class sizes right.)

stress stress stress!! i am the stress pig.

Cut all my hair off the other day. I'm feeling much more punk rock now. and this hairdo is great because i can make it look all smooth and teachery, or it can be fun and shtuff. yay.

strange sights of the day:

hicks in hick truck staring and whistling at me outside of starbucks (note: we do not have hicks here. we are the 8th largest city in the u.s.)

vietnamese catholic nuns in white habits taking old people to pic n' save aka "big lots." (i refuse to call it "big lots," as it doesn't sound quite as trashy.)

you know, i went to the public library yesterday and they didn't have any of the 11 books i wanted to read. reDICKulous! and one book that i looked up at 8 people with holds on it. what kind of library doesn't have any freakin books?

poop libraries, thats it!

home again!

i can't wait for the next season of grey's anatomy to start. that show is darn addictive! i used to laugh at the tv drama genre, and now i love law and order too...

wedding wedding wedding!!!

oh my goodness. i am not a girly girl, and the bride to be is for sure.

today i tried on the wedding dress that my mom and all my aunts wore, for laughs. it was great. so 70's! I looked extremely silly, and i'll put up a picture when i get home.

yesterday we went on a jetboat ride on the willamette river. we all got very wet, and it was pretty crazy. like a roller coaster mixed with a tour bus, but on water.

rehearsal time.

soooooooooooo. it is 12.36 am, and in about 3 hours members of my extended family will be swooping toward my apartment to take me to my cousin's wedding in oregon.

at 3.30 in the morning. that is when i leave.

this fills me with irrational glee.

also, i still haven't packed. i am most worried because my ipod is charging and i don't think it will be done in time. i'm a BIG NERD and i'm bringing my apple laptop and my ipod and i'm going to whore it for macintosh.

i'll be posting.

and my walls will be all yellow, orange, and turquoise! so happy. hopefully my students agree with my excellent decorating decisions.

oh my gosh. have you heard of ratemyteachers.com?

i just went to my old high school's page and read reviews of two of my old friends who now teach at the school. toooo wierd.

and uh.. i have no idea why my school hired at least one of them.

another thing about the website- students rate a teacher's clarity, helpfulness, and easyness. being easy is a good thing on the site. so my favorite teacher, who inspired so many people, does not have a top rating because the students love him and also agree that he is difficult. how dumb is that?

i'm glad that it seems to be junior high and high school teachers that are being rated, and not ME
