It is probably a good thing that we don't normally read our own medical records, because sometimes they are Alarming. Ahem. "Severe melanocytic atypia." I have no idea what that means, except that it is "severe" instead of the "mild to moderate" bad mole-ness that we talk about having in my family. Severe??? I had no idea!

This is from the pathology report from the "bad mole" I had removed ten years ago. That big scar on my arm? The one that took 5 years to fade? I might have to have it re done, as the spot may be coming back.

In addition to the happyfuntime report, I got something like 8 more pages of records they sent but I didn't need. My doctor had really bad handwriting! Worse than a really messy third grader's!

Today marked the halfway point of the school year. 90 days down, 90 to go.

Work is tough, but I try to remind myself that if it wasn't, they wouldn't PAY you for it. Looks like I'll not be teaching summer school this year because of the wedding, so that might be a nice break. I'm sad, though, because this year our rotating summer school location will be a beautiful school with windows in the classrooms. Whole walls of windows! I would probably not want to leave....

hmm...

I got hiking boots this week. I've needed them for a while, since almost every time I hike I tweak one of my ankles...

Sadly, because of my ridiculous feet, I am now the owner of size 11 MENS hiking boots. 11 mens??? That, my friend, would be women's size 12 1/2. (Or maybe even 13) There is no such thing as a woman's 12 1/2 hiking boot.

My nightmare is that someday I will need to buy size 13 shoes regularly... I normally wear 11's, even though my feet are size 12 (left) and 11 1/2 (right). Most shoe manufacturers seem to get a bit sloppy with the largest sizes and make them bigger than they should be, which is fine with me! I would feel icky if I always needed to get 12's. Um, and my shoe size will probably go up to a 13 as I age/ have children, according to other tall women I know.

You simply cannot have size 13 feet and expect to get cute shoes. Ever.

I may be hiking on Sunday. Watch out! I might stomp you. If you are an ant.

Even though progress reports are due tomorrow and I'm... uh... a tad bit behind, I'm seriously considering baking some brownies. Brownies with nuts in them. Then I can have them for dessert AND breakfast!

This is what I did tonight instead of grading papers. My buddy Stephanie will be having a girl. (A third girl!) All these booties need is some black buttons to fasten em up. :o)

Weirdness! I was looking at a random knitting pattern at a huge knitting website, and scrolled down to see the photo of someone I know at the bottom. Hey! Its that lady from the store.... and... wow, she is looking a lot better right now than she was in 2003.

Now I know her name, too.

Tony the terror cat has been moving things.

Earlier this week he stole the lil smokies wrapping out of the trash can and was playing with and licking it in Steve's bedroom. Sometime today he took two cleaning sponges out of the cupboard below the sink (he knows how to open cupboards) and took it to his litter box to play with. Tony likes toys whilst he litters. Like the shiny ribbon I found in the litter box around Christmas time.

Today I hung out with a friend, and we knitted through two movies. Tomorrow I have to start teaching again.... That is totally going to be cutting into my knitting time. I have 69/80ths of a blanket to go...

Twenty four more teaching days until February break!

After that,
29 teaching days till spring break
44 teaching days until summer

Total: 97 more days of school. Almost the halfway point of the year.

Goodness! I haven't posted for a while, seeing as those half-written posts I write but forget to publish don't count...

I have been
1) Doing wedding stuff. We have a tentative place and date. July 14th if nothing changes.
2) Entertaining my brother who is up for the week.
3) Making PERFECT fondue for our annual New Year's Eve fondue party. (Yes! Not lumpy and strangish like last year!)
4) Knitting feverishly and buying yarn for the queen-size blanket I'm making. Oh yes. Photos, soonish.
