Whoops!

I've been busy/unable to connect to the internet. I'm moving, I've been traveling up and down the state to do wedding planning, and the internet connection that we have been "borrowing" from the church across the street is a wee bit unreliable. (I don't think I can complain about that, really.) Hopefully I will have functional internet of my own again as of this evening. Right now I'm sitting at Le Boulanger enjoying an iced vanilla latte and their free internet connection. Score!

Anyways, I'm now on Ravelry, which is quite exciting. I actually sent a message to what I thought was a random other person, but it turns out I know her from a knitting store. Straaange.

As much as I'd like to type more, I am looking at my battery life and see that I must be moving along. (15 minutes remaining! Must check online banking!) :oP

At first I thought it was Tony, stuck in the cupboard under the sink, scratching the door. Or maybe digging in the litter box interminably....

When I got to the kitchen I realized the sound was much higher. In fact....... the sound was coming from the ceiling directly above my head.

Rat
Racoon
Opossom
RAT

The possibilities are endless.

The animal was clearly digging into my ceiling. Scratch scratch scratch scratch. I hit the ceiling and I heard it run off.

Hey, I only live here for another week and a half!

I spent two hours tonight trying to fix the destruction caused by this little guy in about thirty seconds. Don't leave knitting near cats....

There is a list on the whiteboard in my classroom of all the things we* MUST do tomorrow to get the classroom closed up for summer. I think I wrote down something like 25 items!

We will be busy busy because at 1:00 when school is out, I must hop in my car and rush to Bakersfield for my college roomate's wedding extravaganza of sweating. I have a feeling I will just barely make it for the rehearsal. I expect to get into town about fifteen minutes before it starts. :oP

I also need to pack and write a maid of honor toast. I'm thinking about giving the groom tips on being Carolyn's roomate...

*We= my coworkers and I. My coworkers being 20 children in the 8-10 year old hyped-up on sugar and ready for summer set.

The rental condo that I'm supposed to move into with Steve is going to be much more short-term than we had thought. It turns out the landlord has decided to sell it. Steve just moved in at the beginning of April! So, there shouldn't be a problem with living there at least through our honeymoon, but... this whole thing is STRESSING ME OUT! All I need is to feel like I have nowhere to live. So I'm going to pack up my stuff and leave most of it in boxes in the garage until we find a new new place sometime in late summer or early fall. :oP

I hate moving sooo much.

Baby Surprise Jacket (for no baby in particular)

(And no I'm not pregnant) (Why did the supermarket cashier ask me if I was yesterday, anyways? For such a skinny girl, I seem to get asked that a lot.)

Sorry for the poor photo. I am way too lazy to go down the stairs and into the parking lot to get my camera, which I accidentally left in the car.

Here is my most recent obsession- a Baby Surprise Jacket, from Elizabeth Zimmerman. I am using my most favorite yarn ever, which I bought a bunch of on clearance at Commuknity. Don't bother looking there for Noro Silver Thaw in color 2, because I bought every skein they had. (Only 3 skeins, but that is 660 yards worth.) I used the same yarn for this scarf for my mom this winter, and a clone of the same scarf I made for myself.

I can tell you that this pattern is tons of fun. Or... is it the beautiful self-striping yarn? I'll post more, better photos in a few days when I get closer to being done.

P.S.- Anyone want to take my Tony-cat? He just pooed on the floor in anger. Gar. Doesn't he know I am busy finding a place to live, writing report cards, and planning a wedding? (To make an honest kitten out of him of course.) He has never done this before..... I THINK. Just wait, when I move I'll find little poos under all the furniture.

Finished: Big Dotty pillow

Pattern: Big Dotty Cushion from Mason Dixon Knitting by Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne
Yarn: Rowan Handknit Cotton in 205 (Linen), 239 (Ice water), 253(Tope), and 315 (Double chocolate).
Needles: Size 6 clover circulars.
Timeline: A month?

I gave this to my brother for Christmas. Of course, it was still on the needles... I finished it up a few days afterwards, and my mom sewed it up with a denim fabric back that closes with velcro. This pattern was so much fun! It is amazing what slipped stitches can do. It looks much harder than it actually was...

I've been waiting to post this because the knitting was waiting in Orange County for my mom to do the sewing part. And then I had to get down there for the photo shoot.
