Everyone is having babies!

My only girlfriend in town is due in December, two of my coworkers are having babies later in the winter, and Steve's cousin is due in fall. I am planning on knitting for all of these kidlets, which should be interesting. Originally I was only knitting for two babies, but everyone keeps announcing their pregnancies. An old friend from high school is expecting as well, but I'm not really in touch with her anymore...

And so it begins!

Tomorrow is the first day of school. The desks are rearranged so that my three (yes, only three) second grade students are separated from the 17 third graders in the class. The silliness of the desk arrangement makes me wonder how this year will go.

Teaching a combination class will not be easy. I hope that it will make me a BETTER teacher (albeit a more stressed-out one.) I'll have no downtime, but that might be good.

Next weekend is the Scottish Festival in Pleasanton! I will be there, along with perhaps my in-laws (ha!) and my parents. I plan to bring a sock to knit on. This has me very excited... I shall knit while watching the scottish highland games! Wool! 100 degree heat! Haggis! CABER TOSS!

Yeek. Long time between posts, and I don't have much time right now. I've been getting ready for school to start, and it appears that I will be teaching a combination class this year. Second and third grade... I feel overwhelmed. This will be HARD and I want to do a good job. Anyways, more this weekend for sure. Right now I have to go back to la escuela.

Cat

Tony made me very very mad this morning. While I was in the shower he messed up the bathmat I bought YESTERDAY by pulling up some of the loops with his claws. Then, he stole my engagement ring off the dresser and was playing with it on the stairwell. I am so glad I found it.

Now he is trying to make me forget what a bad kitty he is by snuggling with me on the couch.

I'm totally back now! No more wedding planning, horray!!!!

I don't think I'll say anything more about the wedding for a few days, as I frankly am tired of thinking about my wedding.

Today was my first full day in town. I knitted, and hung out with a friend, and ate sushi. Wonderful. I get to enjoy summer for about two weeks, and then it will be full days back in the classroom to work. :oP
